Well its winter, and the car is sitting in the garage, and i feel like we have grown apart. To help resolve this issue I figure that there is no better way to get reaquainted than to spend my time preserving the s13 so that it can last for years to come without having rust issues on the mind. I am starting with the underside of the chasis starting from the back and working my way forward. The plan is to clean up any surface rust spots or any rusty parts and then apply undercoating, paint, and powdercoat as needed. I will take and post pics as i go along. When i get the underside all sorted out and cleaned up i would love to get started on the body and paintwork.

i will have some pictures up tomorrow, but here is one of the car so this thread is not worthless right now.

Hi Brent! Welcome!
Do you have a significant amount of rust to take care of underneath your car?

Welcome! I'm doing the same on mine, people don't like it when you cut rust out -.-. It'll be nice in the end though. What all is done to your car? Any pics of the rust?

there is only one small spot of rust through on the rocker in front of the left rear tire, the rest is very minor surface rust. im just trying to get it taken care of before it gets to be a problem, and its probably just in time.

theres so much stuff done that i cant even remember it all. its basicaly a sr20 with gt35r and full support, and a bunch of suspension goods.

That's not too bad then. Sounds like some sanding, por15, powder coating and you'll be good to go,

Brent, were you serious about needing a piece from one of my parts cars? LMK.

Also I did this same thing on the poop coupe last winter. I dropped the whole rear subframe/gastank, front subframe and cleaned then painted everything with por-15. Was that a pain in the dick. I'll make a build thread sometime soon.

Doesn't sound like it'll be too hard then. I've looked under my S13 and I don't have any rust that I can see. At least on the frame and floor pans. Of course the suspension pieces and subframes are rusty.

I'm hoping to pick up an S14 rear subframe and clean it up/POR 15 it before the spring time. Similar to what Jesse did last winter with the poop coupe.

Yeah, I'd like to do an S14 rear subframe in mine, but that'll probably come next winter.

Problem is FINDING one. Haha. S13s are plentiful around here, S14s not so much.
